Under direction of supervising physician, performs diagnostic and therapeutic medical services. Works to ensure patient satisfaction and positive relationships with physicians and staff to help support the delivery of quality patient care. Adheres to Covenant Health System’s performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Covenant Health System.
Essential Functions:
1. Takes medical history and performs patient examinations under the supervision of physician. 2. Orders/performs/interprets diagnostic test results for patient to provide information on medical condition under the supervision of a physician. 3. Diagnoses patient under the supervision of a physician. 4. Prescribes or administers treatment under the supervision of a physician. 5. Uses good clinical judgment in referring patients under the supervision of a physician. 6. Maintains an accurate medical record to support clinical and business processes. 7. Works to ensure patient satisfaction. 8. Maintains positive relationships with physicians and staff. 9. Plans, implements and/or administers treatment protocols under the supervision of a physician. 10. Supports and adheres to clinic governance model. 11. Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit which may include: Birth – 28 days Neonate 1 – 18 Months Infant 18 Months – 3 Years Toddler 3 – 6 Years Preschool-aged 6 – 12 Years School-aged 12 – 18 Years Adolescents 18 – 65 Years Adults 65+ Years Geriatric 12.
