Completion of Law Enforcement Academy. Completion of Waterloo Police Department field training program. Intermediate language, basic math, intermediate reasoning ability. Ability to understand and use officer discretion appropriately. Ability to remain calm and professional under adverse situations, while supporting a service-oriented atmosphere. No serious or aggravated misdemeanor or felony convictions. Must submit to background investigation. State certified Waterloo Police Officer in good standing. Valid Iowa Driver’s License. Mandatory Reporter. Impact hazard to eyes, head and hand; bloodborne pathogen hazard to eye and hand; chemical hazard to respiratory, driving hazards. Physical demands are very heavy with infrequent lifting, pushing and pulling; frequent walking; moderate deviation of wrist, gross and fine motor skills; requires 20/20 near and far vision and accurate depth perception.

2nd shift hours
Patrols Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry. Periodically tours buildings and grounds, checks doors, windows and gates. Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, routes or details them or calls the police. Checks cars for parking authorization sticker or improper parking. Escorts personnel as requested. Adheres to Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.
